Maths has 14 chapters in the current syllabus. Grouping them into familiar blocks shows where the marks really sit.
The split
This grouping is our own, built for planning.
| Block | Chapters | Questions 2022–26 | Share of Maths 2024–26 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Algebra | 6 | 1129 | 37.7% |
| Calculus | 3 | 820 | 24.6% |
| Co-ordinate geometry | 1 | 409 | 13.5% |
| Vectors and 3D geometry | 2 | 400 | 13.2% |
| Statistics and probability | 1 | 204 | 6.4% |
| Trigonometry | 1 | 177 | 4.6% |
What this tells you
- Algebra is big because it has the most chapters, not because any one chapter dominates.
- Calculus and co-ordinate geometry are concentrated. Three chapters carry a large share, as our Maths concentration post shows.
- Smaller blocks still matter. Trigonometry, statistics and vectors each add a steady few questions.
A suggested order
- Co-ordinate Geometry
- Integral Calculus
- Limit, Continuity and Differentiability
- The algebra block, starting with Complex Numbers and Quadratic Equations
- Vectors, 3D geometry, probability and trigonometry
Frequently Asked Questions
