A three-tier plan for Maths
Tier 1: study first
Co-ordinate Geometry, Integral Calculus, Limit, Continuity and Differentiability, Complex Numbers and Quadratic Equations and Three Dimensional Geometry. Together these carry the largest slice of recent Maths papers. Aim to finish them with full question practice before touching anything else.
Tier 2: core revision
Sets, Relations and Functions, Sequence and Series, Matrices and Determinants and Statistics and Probability. Steady contributors. Revise them on a regular cycle.
Tier 3: cover after the core
Vector Algebra, Permutations and Combinations, Trigonometry, Differential Equations and Binomial Theorem and Its Simple Applications. Lower recent weight, but not zero. Learn the high-yield ideas and keep revision short.
Dropped chapters
NTA's JEE Main 2026 syllabus no longer includes Mathematical Reasoning and Mathematical Induction. If you see them in older papers, skip them.
Chapters gaining weight
Sets, Relations and Functions, Sequence and Series and Vector Algebra took a bigger share of the Maths paper in 2024–26 than in 2022–23.
Chapters losing weight
Limit, Continuity and Differentiability and Trigonometry have been asked less often recently. Do not skip them, but they need not be your first priority.
