How to Build a JEE Main Formula Sheet That You Can Revise in 30 Minutes
A good formula sheet is one page per chapter, not a textbook. What to include, what to leave out, and how to use it daily.

Students often make formula sheets so long that they never revise them. A useful sheet is short, personal and revised often.
The one-page rule
One page per chapter, with three blocks:
- Core formulas (the ones you use in most questions)
- Conditions (when each formula applies)
- Traps (the mistakes you personally make)
What to include by subject
Physics
Formulas with units and conditions, standard graphs, and sign conventions. For example, in Optics keep the sign convention for mirrors and lenses next to the formulas.
Chemistry
Reaction summaries, exceptions to trends and key constants. In Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure include the shape table and bond-order rules.
Maths
Standard results, identities and special cases. In Integral Calculus keep the standard integrals and property tricks together.
How to revise it
- Daily: 20 minutes on the chapters you studied that week.
- Weekly: one full pass of the sheets for your weakest subject.
- Before a mock: a 30-minute skim.
Make it active
Cover the right-hand side and try to recall it. Mark what you missed. This beats re-reading.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long should a formula sheet be?
About one page per chapter. If it is longer, you will not revise it.
Should I use a ready-made sheet?
Use it as a reference, but build your own. Writing it is half the learning.
